2D impact sandbox

Fire anything
at anything.

Every plate, every projectile and every fragment is made of particles carrying real material properties. Deformation, fracture, heat and detonation are not effects somebody drew. They are what those numbers do at two kilometres per second.

And an editor for drawing your own projectiles and targets, which turns every number above into a starting point instead of a limit.

The idea

Physics,
not animation.

Nothing here is a canned animation. Every particle carries density, strength, melting point, heat capacity and detonation energy, and everything you see follows from those numbers.

Swap the steel for glass and it shatters instead of denting. Not because there is a shatter effect, but because glass is brittle.

Pick a material and fire at it. Steel stops the rod inside itself. Aluminium is weaker and lighter, so the same rod goes clean through. Glass does not bother deforming at all.

Click the plate to fire

A reduced simulation, cut down to fit in a browser tab: a few hundred particles. The app runs this same model with up to a million.

The editor

Paint your own,
pixel by pixel.

Every projectile and every target in the library was drawn the way you will draw yours: one cell at a time, choosing the material of each one. Mirror it, outline it, swap one material for another, snap it to the grid.

The library is where you start. It is not where you stop.

A tungsten dart with a copper nose. A plate that is ceramic on the outside and rubber inside. Whatever you save is yours, and a design travels as one small file, from your phone to your PC and back.

Cutaways

Cut a tank open and see
where the ammunition sits.

Seventeen vehicles, each with its real armour layout, its ammunition, its fuel and its engine, in the places they actually are. Hit the ammunition rack and find out what that does.
